Dual use Battery Charges.
Using a number of chargers is very common these days, since almost every person toady possess more than one cell phone, MP3 players, cameras, PDA, GPS, camcorders and many other gadgets.
In addition to the hassle created by the multiple chargers, one wastes equally high amount of energy which is generally left unused in the batteries.
Though the size of batteries used in portable gadgets is reducing by the day, there is hardly any change in the substance that is used to make them, that is, primarily being ‘lead’.
Chemicals inside a battery is non recyclable, non degradable and unsafe to landfill. It’s becoming a major concern all around the world as a large number of new batteries are made everyday, while the used ones are disposed off in the most unprofessional manner, even by the most developed countries.
Realizing the health and ecological hazards, scientists have come up with a brilliant concept of rechargeable batteries. These might cost a little extra than usual ones, but there are beneficial both ecologically and financially in the long run.
The idea is not to throw them away once they’re dead, rather they are placed in a charger and within a few hours, it back and as good as new. This not only reduces the issue of disposal of batteries, but motivates people to engage in recycling of every possible article around them.
