Being “GREEN” in the classroom.
Awareness about the growing environmental hazards is the need of the hour. One should be taught about leading an overall ecological life and contributing to nature’s sustainable development.
Even if the teaching is as basic and ensuring that children throw their used cans and empty boxes in the prescribed dustbins and are able to mark a difference between recyclables and non recyclables.
Also, teachers should strive to incorporate environmental etiquettes in children through their academic courses. Geography can talk about global warming and melting ice at Polar Regions and how this can affect them.
Biology can dictate about the extinct and about to be extinct animals and the causes which made them disappear. Furthermore rainforests and the constant pressure they’re put to are topics to be discussed which might create interests if explained with diagrams and illustrations.
Children can be given practical work to do relating to preservation and better understanding of ecological system. Creating an awareness program and spreading the message to the grown ups through rallies in the neighborhood is a great way to ensure that the voice reaches the masses.
To motivate children to participate in such campaigns, small rewards and gifts can be arranged for the most active kid and so on. Consolation prizes should be given to create a sense of harmony among all.

yup, that was my teacher said in my classroom. I know it sounds too familiar but if we don’t take it seriously, we will miss the message. Keep up a good work and I will visit your blog again
Thanks mate!
